Carla's Funky Art

Me, Paintingcarla

Well, I made it through 2011....what will 2012 bring?  Here is a re-cap of last year.  First full year for Carla's Funky Art, and it turned out pretty well I would say!  Meet some awesome people at the Anacortes Farmers Market, and survived the move off San Juan Island!  It was a pretty rough when we first moved, and I have come to the conclusion that I do not do well with "change".  Summer went buy in a blur between working at Anacortes Kayak Tours, and doing the market.  I had a hard time keeping up with making new art.  We have tossed around the idea of making prints, but haven't quite committed.  I have settled into a new job at Dr. Damon's orthodontic office which is about 20 hours a week.  It is very flexible which is AWESOME and I can still paint, paint, paint!  The business did well this year for it's first year up in running.  I was able to pull off a huge commissioned order for a company down in California.  The winter holiday market was OVER-THE-TOP.......and all in all the year was a great one!  I even turned my sales tax in online via e-file!  (I was a little bit nervous about that one!) I am looking forward to see where the art goes from here.  I have been in a bit of a rut, and need to get back into the studio.  I am currently working on three commissioned pieces.

2012?  Dan and I would like to venture out a bit from Anacortes and do some spring and summer art events in the North Sound.  We are still trying to figure out the easiest way to make prints, any suggestions would be great.   A new Carla's Funky art sign is being made, and we are going to spiffy up our tent a bit for shows.  :)
